Last Friday (6/27/03), we organized a Dean event in downtown San Francisco (at the corner of Bush/Montgomery -- one of the busiest intersections).
We chose that time to coincide with GW flying into town for a quick fundraising luncheon. We chose that corner so we could stage a street renaming (from 'Bush' to 'Dean' St.
). We handed out flyers and spoke to many many people. SF cops showed up but ended up being very supportive (and muttered something about being off-the-record Dean supporters 
)
There were a *lot* of positive comments. This sort of thing puts a face on the Internet-based support. Highly recommended!
