Hi there!! My name is Kim and I run an organization called punxfordean.org. We personally support Howard Dean for president and even more..we want to get people registered and make them AWARE of the candidates that stand a chance. Registering alone won't take the White House from Bush.
Here's our agenda:
We now have approx.6,000 signups across America, 42 local ( to us in Cal.) bands signed up and the TONS of local bands nationwide sending demo's and so on..Our volunteers and coordinators kick ass!! Adam Hootnick from MTV News (!!!) is interviewing us for a story on the campaign! I can't even imagine how many signups will come after that!
The reason I tell you is this: We kick ass on our own and with more bands and volunteers joining the show.. it would grab more attention than we ever dreamed. Our message would be alot more forceful.
[b] Here's what we have in store for Oct-March 2004:[/b] We are going to have a designated night where in every major US City, in every state there is going to be a punk (skater, hardcore, goth, industrial, cowpunk etc.) band playing a local gig for Dean. All on the same night. Date coming soon! Sort of a giant Meetup if you will. All across the Nation there will be punks booking shows on the same night to announce OUR ARRIVAL! Ok..that we have handled.. THEN..
After the success of that night, we then have a "travelling" show/fundraiser. The shows we be all day events, 15-20 local bands from the areas, voter registration booths and Dean Tables. This would be at campuses and Venues in major cities all across America! First show is happening in the Inland Empire, CA. Cal State Berdoo.
This is a fundraiser for Dean and the tickets will only be about $10. (we know how broke WE are..so 10 bones is only right) There will be voter registration booths, merchandise and kick ass bands! We are asking you if you know ANY bands or ANYONE period that would be interested, to send em our way.
